A miserable weekend (11th October)

IMG_4417After a run of lovely weekends the trend was finally broken at our Bolehill Cottages (see here).  Friday was a breezy dull day with a few showers.  Two departures and one arrival and one cleaner up.later in the morning I went down to Bakewell to get provisions for the weekend. With some availability cropping up the handyman will be spending some days here starting on the winter maintenance programme.  After lunch did check on cottage and a bit of leaf collecting as the wind had conveniently blown some into piles.  Cottage arrived at 3pm leaving the rest of the afternoon to devote to paperwork.  Saturday was a miserable day.  Chris put the log burning stove on for the first time this year. Three departures and two arrivals and one cleaner up. In between the showers the cottages were cleaned and checked. After lunch I was able to spend more time on accounts and Chris had another session of leaf collecting to clear the courtyard and car park.  First cottage arrived at 4pm and second one, who have been before, arrived at 8.30.  Sunday was a bit brighter but still cool and showery.  No departures or arrivals so when we went for the paper we drove on to call in at Beeley where we stopped for a coffee at the Old Smithy as we haven’t been there for a while.   After lunch I finally finished last quarters accounts and did some jobs around the house.  There is a hope of better weather next week so lets hope so.

Apologies for missing this blog out, should have published this one before the previous one.
