Wednesday was supposed to be a catch up day at our Bolehill cottages near Bakewell (see here). Like many plans it never happened. Handyman up again and he and Chris disappeared down to one of the local merchants to get a new gadget for the pressure cleaner and as it was a nice day they set about cleaning the patio areas and outdoor furniture. No departures but two arrivals later in the day. I was needed to help decide where some new planters were going to go which our handyman was going to make for us. By lunchtime we realised we had a problem with the phones and luckily BT were here within a couple of hours and were able to fix the problem. Both cottages arrived between 3.30 and 4.pm, one has been before. In the evening I collected Joanna and Lynne for the WI meeting at the village hall. Our designated speaker had not been able to make it but luckily Sally Mosley, who lives in the village, was able to step in at the last minute. She writes on walking in the Peak District for the Peak Advertiser and more recently for Derbyshire Life and has written information on walks for our website. She recounted the series of walks she has written about over the last few years many of which we have followed. As usual from talks like this I came away with more information about the area we have made our home.
