Bakewell

So no more snow but the drifts were worse.  No guests departing from our peak district cottages and the ones who left yesterday only got as far as Uttoxeter before stopping and spending the night there.  Spent the morning ironing (as had washed some curtains yesterday despite everything else going on) and housework.  Andrew came up early afternoon and cleared the drive again.  Must take a picture of the big load of snow cleared from the bottom of the drive.  We then took some of the guests down to Bakewell so they could do a bit of shopping and have a break from Bolehill.  I was surprised at how much snow there was in Bakewell.  One resident said he had never seen so much snow in the forty or so years he had lived there.  None of the banks were open but got some shopping, took some pictures and had a tea in one of the open coffee shops.  ‘Admired’ the Xmas tableau which Bakewell has this year.  Not the same as an Xmas tree!  Cold night expected nationwide.

Weather stats for November.  Highest temp 14.8 on 4th and lowest -6.3 on 28th.  Warmest day and night 4th.  Coldest day 28th and night 27th.  4.72 inches of rain, most of that fell in first 1/3 of month, with 8th being wettest day with 1.08 in rain. Nov 09 had 6.7 inches of rain.
