Chesterfield

IMG_6734Wednesday 14th October got off to a dramatic start at our Bolehill cottages near Bakewell (see here). Heard sirens and saw the air ambulance fly over very low so I knew it was a local accident only to find that someone had crashed into Andrew’s wall just a little further along the road.  Luckily the driver was not badly hurt and the air ambulance was not needed but a stretch of Andrew’s wall will need rebuilding.  Later in the morning we went to Chesterfield as we are running out of toilet rolls for the cottages!  We had a list of items to buy so made a day of it.  One departure but no arrivals. Went to the town centre first and shops such as Wilkinsons and Argos and we had lunch in one of the side street cafes.  Then we went to Currys, B&Q, Screwfix and finally Bookers so we are restocked with toilet rolls.  Back home via Dunelm (of course).  In the evening we went to Carriages with a couple of our guests and had a nice meal.  Thursday saw no departures but one arrival and one cleaner here.  Plenty to do and cottage arrived just after 3pm, they have been before but last time was before we were here so they have seen some changes.  In the evening we joined one of the cottages for a drink.  Another pleasant evening in the company of guests.  Autumn may be taking hold but there is still some summer colour around.
