Friday 16 October was overcast at our Bolehill cottages near Bakewell (see here). Three departures and one arrival with one cleaner here. Friends had arranged to visit us and they arrived at lunch time. Had a hair appointment in the afternoon so took friends to Bakewell so they could have a wander while I got my hair cut then bought provisions for the weekend. In the evening we enjoyed a take away from Urban Spoon in Bakewell (Chris had fish and chips)and we would highly recommend Urban Spoon (if you eat in you can take your own drink.). At this time of year we are moving more towards short breaks so Saturday saw four departures and three arrivals (should have been been four but had one late cancellation). With prompt departures cleaning was well under way by 10am and with three cleaners here all cleaning and checks completed by lunchtime. Therefore we went out for lunch and drove over to Edensor where it was nice enough to sit outside with the dogs (our friends have a dog and Smudge gets on well with her). All arrivals have been before so left Chris to see them in while friend and I went to the Wool Gathering in Bakewell. This was the second year it has been at Bakewell and was in the Agricultural Centre. As friend is a keen knitter she enjoyed the nearly four dozen stalls of wool and felting accessories and as I have knitted in the past I came away with some wool and a pattern for a neck cowl so now all I need is the time to knit it! When got back visted all the arrivals. We were still full from lunch so we just had a snack for tea and then thought we would go to the Lathkill for a drink forgetting that the rugby was on!
