With a lovely day forecast we decided to go for a short walk. I chose a circular walk from Whiteladies car park on the A6 along Monsal Dale to Monsal Head and back. First we went and got the paper from Bakewell then drove along the A6 to the car park. After crossing the A6 we walked along the dale to the first footbridge and then climbed up to Monsal Head. Here we stopped at Hobbs Cafe for a coffee and cake and enjoyed the views and the blue sky. I cannot remember the last time I had see such a blue sky with no clouds! From the cafe we had a number of options of returning back to the car park and after taking some pictures of the viaduct, one of the iconic pictures of the Peak District we opted to walk down the lane in the direction of Cressbrook. We had a look at a flock of geese being fattened up for Christmas before crossing at the first footbridge over the river. We then walked under the viaduct and picked up the footpath back to Whiteladies car park. Then home via Monyash where we stopped at the cafe for a bacon roll and mug of tea and as it was warm enough we sat on the green outside. Back home and a chance to catch up on bits before our final guests for the week arrived in our peak district cottages. They have been here before. A quiet evening but a busy week ahead as I will be heading down to my dad’s bungalow for a few days tomorrow evening. Hope you enjoy the pictures!
