Saturday saw two departures but no arrivals at our cottages near Bakewell (see here). A bright quiet day mainly catching up on housework and personal paper work. Chris spent some time clearing the leaves from the courtyard and twigs/branches from the guests garden. Thought he had already done this for the last time! Sunday was a little cloudier. Two departures and for the first time this year we have no guests! We had arranged to have lunch with Andrew and Joanna at the Lathkill as we haven’t had a meal out together for a while. A nice lingering lunch and time to chat. As usual the pub was quite busy with diners and walkers. Later in the afternoon there was another wonderful sunset, but it was more spectacular further to the south judging by the photos on the local news. Monday was a pleasant dry day. One cleaner up to keep up with cleaning and one arrival later in the day. Chris and handyman started on the kitchen in Sheepfold where we are replacing the kitchen tiles as well as a few other jobs in the kitchen. Usual Monday jobs and an oil delivery which will keep us going over the festive season. Guests were delayed by accidents on the motorway and subsequent roads resulting in an eight hour journey rather than four hours. They eventually arrived at 9pm when I was at the Village Hall Committee Meeting. They have been a few times before.
