A relatively quiet Friday 19 June

A bright start and it remained dry for the day despite showers being forecast. One cottage out with one back in our Bakewell cottages and one cleaner up to turn cottage round. Went and inspected the damage by the cows (who have been given a herd ASBO) and perhaps not as bad as thought. Many bushes stripped of leaves so will have to wait until next spring to see if they grow back, and not many completely trampled. Salvaged some branches which I will dip in rooting powder and replant and see what happens. Also planted out the remaining hanging basket plants in the troughs in the courtyard. Still have a few left over, always make sure I have more than needed especially as I noticed a few I planted out the other day have already been eaten! Guests arrived about 4.30 and after a few bits of planning for tomorrow and an early dinner went to Buxton. Saw lots of stretch limos so obviously proms night in Buxton. Went to the Opera House to see ‘Beyond the Barricade’. www.beyondthebarricade.com Saw them here about 18 months ago and really enjoyed their show (songs from West End Musicals) and it was good to see them perform to a full house. Still daylight as we drove home but longest day on Sunday so it wont last.
