The last day of meteorological spring was a fine day although it got off to a dull start at our cottages near Bakewell (see details of Bolehill Cottages here). Seven departures and six arrivals and three cleaners here. I went down to the Farmers Market first thing and once back got stuck into helping with cleaning as Chris did and then doing the final checks. Most done by 2pm after which Chris cut the grass and I did the last of the final checks. The poor lawn mower is not very well so will have to go to the lawn mower doctor. A steady procession of arrivals from 3pm to 5.30, two of which have been before. It was nce to take the dogs for a walk in the evening sunshine. Sunday was a very pleasant day with a lot of warm sunshine. One departure after which we went to Bakewell to get the paper and from there we headed for Tissington for the well dressings. We thought we would take the scenic route so went via Winster. Unfortunately the back road into Tissington was closed so we had to go round via Fenny Bentley. We aimed to get there before 11am so we would be ahead of the crowds and coaches which we were. There was no vehicle access to the village so we had to park in the field and pay (money goes to charity). We had a nice stroll around the village, stopping for a coffee as well, and of course taking many photos. Back in time for lunch then a quiet afternoon enjoying the nice weather and Chris did a little bit of pruning. Another unsettled week is forecast but not as bad as the previous week. Enjoy the photos.
